There's no control over last.fm submit, so it's always hard to figure out what's broken, my distro package, the server backend ?
What would be cool is probably a python script that would install using the script manager, that would get the current track info from DCOP (I bet it's possible), and that would do the submit manually. Is submitting something like pydelicious one (putting stuff in an HTTP packet) ? Thanks, Benjamin. |

What's the point? Whenever possible Amarok submits the data anyway. If it's not possible, then the last.fm server is having problems, and your script won't be able to help either.

The Amarok submit code is probably bullet proof, but seing what's being done help identifying where does the problem happens (server, Amarok). Maybe compiling Amarok in Debug mode, or adding a verbose flag helps ?
From the lastfm status page: '''' Submissions Server * Status: ONLINE. There are still some minor problems with MBID submission not working, and certain users are still experiencing problems with recent tracks/tracks played updates. This will be fixed soon. '''' Is Amarok using MBID submission ? |

Generally it's best to just relax about submitting. Amarok will queue all failed submissions and resubmit them at a later point. Nothing gets lost, so don't worry
![]() There are btw log files for the status bar messages, maybe you'll find those interesting. They are located in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok, something like "statusbar.log".

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I really think a manual submit function would be very useful. At the moment my submissions are broken, I read that I might be able to trigger them with a change to my password so I've tried that now I'm waiting for it to submit. I could trigger it by playing a track but..
I need to submit the tracks I was playing last night on my desktop before I submit the tracks I played today on my laptop. If I play a track on my desktop to trigger submission that track will trigger last.fm spam protection so my laptop tracks won't submit. It's a problem I face daily that I have to make sure I submit laptop tracks from the daytime before my desktop has its first scrobble of the evening, otherwise it's goodbye to everything queued up on the laptop. Hope this makes a dev somewhere realise it's not a complete waste of time. |
