Strange playback problem

Mon Jul 02, 2007 10:40 pm
Hi everybody! I just recently installed Amarok on my Fedora Core 6 system (fairly new to Linux in general). It's great, but I'm having a very strange problem. Certain tracks are being cut off early. I know that the entire file is there, because if I manually fast forward past the "cutoff point" it will play the entire song just fine. But left alone, it will stop at the same point each time. This only happens with certain tracks, and its happening on my iPod as well.

I have no idea what's going on, any ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I can only think of these two tips for you:

1) Try to disable crossfading
2) Try upgrading your xinelib

End-of-track is generally detected by the engine backend, that's why I'm suspecting xinelib could be the culprit. You could check that by playing the same tracks in another xine based client, like xine-ui.
