Hello everybody. I'm trying to make the decision to move from Windows Vista Business to Ubuntu. The only reason I remain hesitant is the fear of migrating my iTunes/Ipod music collection to Amarok and losing the hundreds of hours I spent organizing my 30GB of music. I have some questions, that I can't answer merely by looking at the product features of Amarok, or by reading in this forum.
What is the best way to migrate my entire collection of music, to include ID3 tags, album art, playlists..etc? Is there a step-by-step guide to a seamless migration? When connecting my iPod to Amarok, if I "drag" files over from my ipod to Amarok, will it pull the ID3 tags, album art and playlists along with the mp3? Or am I going to be stuck organizing everything again? What level of organization will be present if I move the files from the ipod to Amarok? Much of my album artwork is scanned in and not available on Amazon, so if I can't easily transfer there will be no point in switching. Thanks. |
