i found some references to others seeing this on the web, but only in the picard/musicbrainz bugtracker.

picard sets "date" (DDMM)  and "year" (YYYY).  when i open the collection in amarok it uses the "date" field if it's there preferentially over "year" in the year column.
i searched around on this and found no other references on amarok pages to this problem.  maybe it's been decided it's not your problem?

i'm unclear on what's the standard here.

also, is this as close as we get to a bugtracker for amarok?
