Following on from my previous post.

I have somehow stupidly managed to mark a lot of my various albums as not various. So they are no longer turning up in the "Various Artists" section of my collection. Is there any way to reverse this? Ive tried deleting my collection database. But the next time I rescanned it was the same! Ive also tried uninstalling amarok and deleting all the files I could find related to it. But when I reinstalled it I found it was remembering things like my last.fm login! Im pretty new to linux, but on windows I would be arms deep in the registry by now deleting all the entrys! Im running Ubunu Fiesty 7.04 if you need to know.

Basicaly is there a way to totaly clean uninstall of amarok? I want to be able to rescan the library and not remember the albums I marked as not various.

as well as deleting your database, you'll need to delete ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc

Not sure why compilations are causing a problem, although if you've updated from a very old version, the way compilations are worked out may have changed.

The problem was I had albums apearing in the "various artists" section that I thought were not "various artists" so I right clicked on "do not class as various. Ive now changed my mind and I think they ARE various. But they are now apearing in the normal section.

ie these are ablums with 2 or 3 artists the same on them. These albums are now split. I have to change the view to "album" to see the whole album.

I'll try deleting that particular folder.

Once you change view to "album", you should be able to re-flag the album as a compilation. check the right-click menu again
