Once again, let me begin by stating my undying love for amarok.
I'm really not hip to the proper way to state this, but let me try in newbiese. I inherited a really poorly structured folder hierarchy in which my music is stored. Folders have idiosyncratic names, some songs are organized in album folders under artist folders, some are just free floating at the top directory level, etc. With the help EasyTag and some elbow grease, I now have things set up so Amarok organizes everything into a nice hierarchy, with albums under artists and songs under albums--ie in a way that makes sense. So here's my question: is there any way that I can export Amarok's file structure so that I can trade it for the hierarchical mess from which my Amarok draws? I'd like to do this so I can create a more sensical backup of my music on my external hard drive. If this question doesn't make sense, I'll be happy to clarify. I should also disclose that if you just send me a couple of lines of code, I'll have no idea what to do with them. I'm a new Fiesty user. Finally, if there is no way to do this, then is there any way to search recursively through my ugly set of nested music directories and copy all the music files into a single (un-nested) directory? Things like Thanks in advance, Matt |

right-click, Manage..., Organize
![]() On the "Organize" dialogue, click "advanced" to allow customisation of the wildcards used to create your dir structure.
