The new models of ipod nano (introduced past week) do not work with Amarok for me:
The system mount the device correctly, and seems like Amarok can put songs on the ipod without problem. But when umounted, iPod does not show any songs. And once Amarok has managed the ipod, iTunes (on windows) can not connect, and I've must reset ipod completly to use it with windows. (bad english, I know, sorry) Any suggestions? |

Unfortunately, there doesn't yet seem to be a way to manage the new ipods with linux. Different to previous models, the database seems to be protetected by some checksum, and up to now nobody could figure out how to compute it. Check the gtkpod-devel mailing list archives for more info.

Good news: Comunity has found the way to generate the checksum of the iTunesDB (I'm not sure if I can put links here but it will be easy to find) Now, the question is... will this be available someday on Amarok (actually it's easy to make it by oneself, configuring a script in the "disconnect" button) but will it be legal? I've still got time to give my new iPod back ,and I'll do it. I'll never understand this kind of policies of the big companies. |

Yeah, see here:
http://amarok.kde.org/blog/archives/496 ... orted.html Should be as easy as upgrading your libgpod, once the new version is released.
