Hi,

Amarok cannot play files encoded with $ flac --ogg anymore. The latest release of FLAC change the MIME type and file extension for the Ogg FLAC format to the latest Xiph spesification. Resulting in files being encoded with a .oga file extension with audio/ogg MIME type.

Amarok 1.4.7 cannot play these files! Changing the extension back to .ogg will fix it. But that is just silly. Amarok needs to be updated to support the new file extensions and MIME types.

You should report this to taglib developers.
