I don't like the type of normalization that saves the volume in my id3 tags. So I've been searching around for alternatives. I noticed that xine has the option to apply normalization in real time as a post processing filter. I would want to use this in Amarok with my xine backend. Is this possible and if yes how do I enable it?

Check out the ReplayGain amarok script.

I don't think that is what I want because as far as I know that messes up my id3 tags and I don't want that. What I want is to be able to enable the volnorm in xine as I use the xine-engine
I believe that it works the same way as xmms-volnorm: http://volnorm.sourceforge.net/ |

Sorry, that's not possible with Amarok at this point.

It sure would be nice a nice feature to have. I hope someone has time to look at it at some point.
