I have a strange problem with Amarok with my newly installed Debian testing/lenny system. The Amarok Welcome ogg file plays fine in Amarok. However, all of my own ogg and mp3 files play with no volume. I did install libxine1-ffmpeg for mp3 support.

Also, only some of the /usr/share/sounds/*.ogg files installed with Debian work and it seems like it zips through the playlist, a fraction of a second per track so that he tracks play on top of each other.

My ogg and mp3 files play with with noatun.

Any ideas?

That's indeed very strange. Seems like there might be something wrong with your vorbis codec.
