Hi

I have a Sony A818 media player and it supports UMS, so I can directly put my songs into the device.
But the thing is that I want to manage my player using Amarok like I do using winamp in windows. I have no clue about device nodes and put proper command for the connecting devices. I searched and only thing I figured out is that node files(??) are located on /dev folder. From this point, I don't know what I need to do.

Thank you for reading this.

Hi,
as the A818 is a MTP device:
-simply plug it in
-amarok will show up the device
-select the mtp plugin
-done

Assuming your distro and amarok version have been bundled with mtp support...

That's correct. But today I saw the following amarok script on kde-apps.org:

Don't know, if it works for you. But perhaps it makes life a bit easier.
