Before running ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`, I made sure that all of the dependencies were met using yum.
The only one that the configure script does not seem to be able to find is xine-lib. (I'm sure it's all there, because I use Xine to watch DVD's.) Here's the end of the output from the configure script. ----------snip----------------- config.status: executing depfiles commands ========================== === Amarok - WARNING ======================================================== ========================== = = The recommended xine-engine will not be built. If you want to use the = powerful xine multimedia framework with Amarok, please download xine-lib = version or higher from http://xinehq.de/ = ================================== === AMAROK WILL NOT BE BUILT ================================================ ================================== = = No suitable multimedia framework was detected. You need to install at least = the Xine or Helix framework as detailed in the Amarok README. = -----------snip----------------- I have xine-lib 1.1.7 installed. rpm -qi and rpm -ql give the following output: [root@aquarius ~]# rpm -qi xine-lib Name : xine-lib Relocations: (not relocatable) Version : 1.1.7 Vendor: Dag Apt Repository, http://dag.wieers.com/apt/ Release : 1.el5.rf Build Date: Thu 07 Jun 2007 11:10:37 AM EDT ------------snip---------------------- [root@aquarius ~]# rpm -ql xine-lib /usr/lib64/libxine.so.1 /usr/lib64/libxine.so.1.17.1 /usr/lib64/xine /usr/lib64/xine/plugins /usr/lib64/xine/plugins/1.1.7 --------------------snip----------------------- I tried : [root@aquarius amarok-1.4.7]# ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` --with-xine --with-xine-lib-dir=/usr/lib64/ This also failed with the same messages. Perhaps I've got the syntax wrong. (I tried some other variations as well.) I use Amarok on my laptop running Suse 10.2 and my other workstation running CentOS 4.4. I would love to be able to use it under CentOS 5. If I can get this to work, perhaps I can work on getting an rpm built and submitted to the repos. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You also need to install the xinelib-dev package, which contains the header files needed for compilation.

Thanks.
I had a feeling that it was something simple that I was missing. Everything installed smoothly after that. |
