Spurious Next Track

Fri Oct 19, 2007 1:50 pm
Ever since upgrading to Kubuntu Gutsy, I've been getting random task skipping.  During normal playback of my playlist, songs will get skipped after about 1 second of playback.    Sometimes its 1 out of 10 songs, lately its almost every other track.

This is really starting to have a negative effect on my song scoring! :)

I have next track mapped as a global shortcut to WinKey+B. Is it possible that those are getting generated somehow?  What do I do to debug this?

Thanks

Does your soundcard support hardware mixing?
Did you enable crossfade in Amarok?

Disabling crossfade resolved the issue (or appears to have).  I see the crossfade is set to 2000 ms (which seems large), is that the cause?  Perhaps that setting got stomped on my upgrade.

FYI, I have the same issue. Turned off crossfading to avoid it for now, but I'd be good to get to the underlying cause
