Chinese Fonts Displaying Incorrectly

Sat Oct 20, 2007 11:42 pm
Hi:

I am using Amarok in Ubuntu (i.e. KDE app in Gnome) and I recently upgraded to 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon).  Now I have this problem where Chinese fonts display incorrectly in some places in Amarok.  Specifically, some Chinese (not all) characters will not display properly in:

  • the status bar at the bottom of Amarok, where it says "Playing: [Song name] [Song length]
  • in the collection window, some of the headings will not display properly (i.e. the title of a group of singers whose names all start with the same chinese character), but everything else in the collection window displays correctly (i.e. the nodes beneath the headings)

I have already gone and changed the fonts in Amarok to all use Sans Serif.  I have also changed the font settings in the KDE control centre app to use Sans Serif.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,
LK
