well, to start tracking down the problem, what's changed on your system since you last had a successful scan?

Heh ya...wife bought a new laptop .. a mac and decided that she might as well see what all the hoopla was about itunes and pointed it at the share.I tunes then decided that it was ok to move and rename a good chunk of the share.
Couldnt recover that. So I went to a back up of the share I had on another drive. Amarok kept locking up and the folder mapping wasn't exactly the same so I figured that It would be easier to just wipe the DB and redo it. So I have basically started clean. |

good idea
![]() i use amarok on my macbook, saves the itunes pain! it's a bit of a fiddle to install, but works nicely apart from a minor network prob that i'm still looking into.

ya after all the mess it made she hated itunes and killed it. she runs something else now not sure what but at least it hasnt decided it can just rename folders and files with impunity.
Thing is even with a clean start I cant get passed the collection scan....so now im trying to get a cp of the collection from the sqlite and try the methods in the wiki to just inject it into the mysql that way... One thing I have noticed tho is the collectionscan file seems to have the location of all my files and the names correct so what im wondering is is there a way to just import that data to the Mysql database? edit: she tells me its called cog...never heard of it myself
