Hi, I'm using Amarok 1.47 on KDE 3.5.8 with the xine engine, the distro i am using is Kubuntu 64 Gutsy Gibbon.
I have my collection tree set up like this Artist>Album>Songs and under the Album branch it shows two each each song (it doesnt matter what format they are) even though i only have one of that song. (i dont know if this matters but the songs are on an ntfs volume) re-scanning/updating the collection doesnt fix this problem. the other problem i have is that amarok constantly re-scans my collection (about every 5 seconds) and this lags the **** out of the program (but it doesnt effect song play back). these bugs arent deadly but are really annoying, please tell me someone has a solution for this.

possible solutions, but by no means definitive...
1) try a full rescan of your collection. 2) Turn off "scan folders for changes" if you're downloading into a collection folder, or find a different location to download to. ntfs might also be a culprit, but your symptoms can indicate other things too.

of course right as you posted this i though "i already did all this before to no avail" and figured what the heck ill try it again so i hit the "remove dead files" button then "rescan collection" and imagine that theyre gone. as for the constant scanning i just hit the red x when it was scanning it before and it hasnt done it since. thanks for the help
