So I have my desktop computer running sabayon linux, and my laptop running CentOs 5, and both have amarok. I was windering if there is any way I can use amarok on my laptop, playing the music on my desktop, I tried SSH, but it opened amarok on my laptop (running on desktop-window on laptop) but when I started playing music, it played through the desktop speakers.
NOTE: I want to use the SAME collection, ie, it'll be only on one computer, not just 2 collections syncing with eachother thanks in advanced, I hope you can understand what I'm asking, if you need anything cleared just ask ![]() |

you could check out the web browser frontends available for the amarok database. http://kde-apps.org should have a few. Alternatively, share your music via samba or nfs, and mount the drive on your network, or use mysql or postgresql database backend (will possibly require you to recompile amarok) and share the one collection between two machines.

I don't know much about sharing files with smaba/nfs, but if I set this up could I share the collection.db file, and the music folder, and have them in the right places (ie mounted at ~/Music...), if so how can I set them up to share?
