Problems with m4a transferring/transcoding

I have tried to set up my device to manage transcoding logically, accepting mp3, wma and m4a and trancoding to m4a, but if I select m4a it prints "&m4a"  in the list of supporte fomats, and when I try to transfer or transcode I receive the error notification "unsupported file format", even though I have all the gstreamer plugins necessary. The only format it will transcode to is mp3. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I'm using dirtyxcode

See the sticky topic in the help forum about transferring ogg. You have the same problem.

Brilliant, thanks for your help - worked like a charm for recognising m4a's, although it still claims that m4a is an unsupported format for transcoding
