Hello,
just wondering if any other users are having problems with last.fm since last week. Amarok isn't scrobbling tracks anymore and backlog is growing... I'm suspecting last.fm and their code being changed recently. I tried to raise a support ticket, it hasn't been accepted as amarok is a third party player. It seems that amarok has problems with handskake and submitting played tracks. excerpt from amarok's log file: Connection was to 87.117.229.205 at port 80 [2007-11-27 22:56] Failed to submit several tracks to last.fm [2007-11-27 22:56] Failed to submit 'Sounds Like Desolation' and 9 other tracks 356 tracks still in queue 357 tracks still in queue 348 tracks still in queue 348 tracks still in queue 358 tracks still in queue 358 tracks still in queue 358 tracks still in queue 358 tracks still in queue |

Just a few hints:
this is taken from last.fm software: ?hs=true&p=1.2&c=****&v=1.3.2.13&u=svatoboj this was captured by wireshark while amarok tried to submit tracks... ?hs=true&p=1.1&c=ark&v=1.4&u=svatoboj So it seems to me that internal scrobbling protocol of last.fm has been changed from version 1.1 to 1.2. I use amarok copile from source - SVN. Thanks. S. |

It generally means a problem or delay with last.fm's submission servers. When they're congested, last.fm restricts the length of connections (or the number of submissions at a time, can't remember which). Just wait... they'll clear in good time.
