Automagically Download new covers

Fri Nov 30, 2007 4:06 am
Hey all,
Long time Amarok user here, and all I find it the best player around - with one exception: i can't find a way to auto-download new covers.

It would be great if when a previously-unseen album gets played, either:

> the cover for it is either automatically grabbed off whichever site you've configured

or (probably not an ideal choice, cause it could get annoying fast)

> it pops up the same dialogue as when you right click the album in context mode and hit "fetch cover"

I've had a decent run through the site (and the scripts list, and google), and can't find anything that does this - am I being daft and missing it, or is this not a current feature?

It's not possible currently, but we're experimenting with this feature in Amarok2. The only problem is, what to do when a wrong image is downloaded? It would be annoying to show a dialog for each track you play. So that's what we need to solve elegantly.
