OK, I've tried Amarok 1.47 and gnomad2 and there are some albums I just can not transfer.

I can resolve the issue for some albums by copying and renaming the files to avoid special characters like , : and ;

I tried setting ASCII file names only (by using the universal config tool - vi  ~/.kde3.5/share/config/amarokrc  )

Still can't transfer this album.

I found this article:

and got the locale conversion tool. That helped some. Replacing : with - in the id3 tags also helped.

This is seeming more and more like an libmtp problem.
