Hello,
I upgraded to amaroK 1.4.8 yesterday on Ubuntu 7.10 and found that it would not autodetect my iPod nor any other media device. Its response was: »No new media devices were found. If you feel this is an error, ensure that the DBUS and HAL daemons are running and KDE was built with support for them. You can test this by running "dcop kded mediamanager fullList" in a Konsole window And, "dcop kded mediamanager fullList" gave nothing but "call failed". I have downloaded again version 1.4.7 from packages.ubuntu.com and it still works like a charm, so the problem must come from versión 1.4.8 itself. Any ideas? |

I can confirm this as well. I added mine manually and it does work properly once it's added, but it definitely threw me for a loop.

Have the same problem =( But didn't even managed to add it manually (I have an iPod)
I have seen "Don't show the device plugin dialog when a new device is plugged in." in changes and rushed to downloads page to get the fresh version. Downloaded the tarball, extracted it and succesfully compiled it according to directions at the downloads page. Yes, I have user --with-libgpod in ./configure. But when I finished installing my lovely player it's appeared to be no "iPod" in Devices section. Now I have just Music sharing and Player, no any other options =( What did I do wrong? |

I have the same exact problem and I have NO idea how to fix it. Any idea on how to fix this? I tried opening my media in a different player besides Amarok and it does the same thing. It just won't play.
If I don't get to be able to listen to my collection, ill go bonkers! |
