I connected my 6th gen iPod classic to my computer with kubuntu installed. Amarok opened it up, could browse the music and I tried to send some songs. Next thing, my iPod can't find any of it's music. After searching here I found that it's a bug due to old versions of amarok and/or new versions of libgpod. However, kubuntu messed up and during an upgrade (necessary for newer versions of amarok) it froze and died. The harddrive is to be repaired and backed up before formatted and reinstalled.
So. I'm on a windows computer, I can browse the iPod through the latest winamp but I can't rebuild and fix the damage that amarok caused when I first connected it. Is there any way to fix the errors without loosing all of my music? My own computer is about 40 miles (400 kms) away for the moment, so I can't just format the iPod and put the music back there. |

If you manage to compile libgpod 0.6.0 and Amarok 1.4.8 it should be easy to get you going again: just connect your ipod, make sure that it's model is correctly detected, if not, then set it from the iPod button on top of the media browser and do a scan for "orphaned and stale" files and chose "add to device" (or similar) for the orphaned files.

I'm not sure you understood the problem...
Is there a way to do the amarok repair on a windows installed computer? |

I solved the problem by setting up the latest winamp (5.51) and transfered some songs. Aparently winamp fixed the directories that the old version of amarok messed up.
