Okay, I just got an iPod and I really want it working before I leave for a trip tomorrow. The problem is that, even though I got it connected and transferred music to it from Amarok (running on Ubuntu Gutsy amd-64), the ipod itself doesn't see the music when I'm not connected. When the thing is connected and I look at the mounted hard drive, there's music there, and the iPod indicates that the hard drive has stuff on it, but it claims there's no music to play. Can anyone help with this? I really appreciate it.

Please have a look at http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Media_Device:IPod - you need at least libgpod 0.6.0 (but that is not part of gutsy).

Martin's advice to look at http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Media_Device:IPod was spot-on. I was having the same problem as Excalibre with a new iPod Classic and Amarok 1.4.8, but as soon as I added the FirewireGuid line to /media/
Thanks, Martin. |
