I have a Sony ATRAC Walkman MP3 player and recently downloaded Amarok thinking that it might be possible to use this MP3 player with Amarok, thus eliminating my need for Windoze to deal with adding files to it. Anyone try this before with any success? I tried using the "generic media device" hardware setting but did not get anything. Any tips/ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

A quick response would be: "no, i'm sorry". However, you can use some tools like the ones described at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=206470. Probably in the near future if someone takes the time to develop it.

See also here  :

http://sourceforge.net/projects/nwe00xmp3man
and
http://sourceforge.net/projects/symphonic ( a rewrite of nwe00xmp3man in progress)

NOTE that the nwe00xmp3man project also offers JavaStage, a command line (CLI) tool offering moste of the features of Sony's SonicStage
