Hi, for the past few days something really weird has been happening. It *seems* ever since I updated to kde4..amarok (the stable version) does not find all of my collection when it scans. For instance, some albums will only have 3 or 4 tracks (when they should have around 12). Some albums will be missing entirely, etc. And what's even weirder..say one album has 4 missing tracks..if I add JUST that folder with the missing tracks to my collection, it will find all of the files in it. If I re-scan my whole music folder, they will go missing again. I had this problem on kubuntu (a day or so ago) so I tried SuSE..same problem. If I scan my entire music folder with JuK all my files are found fine.
Any ideas as to what could be wrong? All of my music files and folders are on a seperate harddrive and mounted in /media/shared. I believe they are on a reiserfs partition. Could this maybe be some weird permission issue or something? Could it have something to do with KDE4.0? Thanks. -Joe |

Hey yeah, just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one experiencing this issue. A number of other Amorak users have reported this problem, hopefully the Amarok Development team will get on top of this one. Looks like so far nobody knows what it causing this error.

It could be kde4 related - I seem to recall another thread here where a user had bits of both kde3 & kde4 on their system, and Amarok really didn't like it.
Do you have the same problem in a kde3 environment?

I'm having a similar problem lately and I'm using KDE 3.5.9
First I thought they were missing entirely, then I searched for some song names in my collection. The missing songs are tagged correctly but strangely they're listed as if the tracknumber was the artist tag, so in the collection view, Artist/Album mode, under 01-xx, you should look there for your missing tracks. It's a really weird bug..when I play the songs the context information is correct but amarok doesn't recognize the tracks as a whole album and lists them under artist: 01-xx. |

Try changing the collection view, then changing it back. I seem to recall this type of thing showing up with an earlier version change.

I'm having this issue as well. For some reason Amarok has dropped entire folders of music and also a few tracks from folders it used to have in the collection. Is there any news on this issue?
I'm using kde 3.5.10 and amarok 1.4.9.1 |
