Hello,
I've searched all of the forums and have done some googling, but haven't come up with the answer to this; apologies if this is a repeat question. I have a bunch of podcasts that I've downloaded with a different program, and am trying to get Amarok to recognise them as such. I've modified Amarok's podcast directory (~/Podcasts), subscribed to the correct RSS feed, and copied my mp3 files containing the podcasts to the appropriate directory... but I don't know how to synchronize Amarok's database in order for it to see the files. Is there a way to do this, either cleanly or with a bit of effort, or am I just better off deleting the existing files and re-loading the podcasts using Amarok (I'm trying to avoid this because there are many files and it will take a while). thanks! |

You can right-click on each podcast episode and say "associate with local file".
Is this what you are looking for? |

Hi Marcel,
Yes, thank you! That's more or less what I was looking for. Sorry I hadn't even noticed that menu option before. Not to sound ungratefully picky, but by "more or less" I meant that it would be nice if Amarok could look in a directory and scan the Podcast tag metadata to associate the correct files automatically. With this right-click method, it's possible to make a mistake and associate the wrong file (when there are hundreds of Podcasts to sift through, this becomes an issue). Thanks again for your help! |

I'm fairly new to Amarok...this was helpful, but its also a collosal pain in the behind. I have hundreds of podcast files. Is there a way to associate groups of files with groups of podcasts?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. - Parrish |
