I recently had a hard drive failure and managed to recover most of the files that were on the bad drive. However, some of my mp3s are now corrupted, and the corrupted files cause Amarok to stop playing and/or crash in addition to being unable to rebuild my collection (freezes at 98%). Is there a tool that can go through my collection and identify the bad/broken files, so that I know which songs I need to rescan into the collection? I found a script called Mp3Fixer, but that works on a one at a time basis, and I have far too many songs for that to be time efficient.
Thanks for your help! |

Take a look at ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection_scan.log. This file always contains the *last* path that the scanner was processing.
In other words, if the scanner freezes, the file listed in there would be the culprit, and you can remove it.
