update collection not working

Fri Feb 01, 2008 5:01 pm
Hello,

I am using amarok version 1.4.8 on Fedora 8 via kde-3.5.8.  My collection is on an external hdd via firewire.

My problem:

Clicking the update collection button or Tools->Update collection does not work.
Also when I make changes in my collection, there is no automatic update.  I
have both scan folders recursively and watch folders for changes selected.  If I
de-select or reselect these options, the apply button does not work too. The
apply button does not work when selecting a folder.

Any help woulfd be appreciated.

Then I have no idea. Your setup sounds completely normal.

What you could try is (make a backup first!) nuking your Amarok config:

rm ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc

Problem fixed already. I got help #amarok in irc.  They pointed me to this---->http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Amarok_File_Tracking
