Why can't you just compile it yourself? It'll probably be a long while before it's committed and a new version number is incremented...

All you need to do is grab the latest SVN version, compile it and install - the standard "make install" installation puts it in /usr/local/lib whereas the 0.6 stable version from the repos that you probably already have should already be in /usr/lib.

Just rename the old library (libgpod.so.3.0.0) - to something like libgpod.so.3.0.0.old, then just put the newly compiled one in /usr/lib and Amarok will see it next time it starts up...

Hi! I've been having the same problem as you and I too want to fix it, but I have no idea how. I don't know how to compile or anything, and I can hardly use the terminal either. Would it be possible for you to explain the whole thing to me, starting from how to grab the latest SVN version to "make install"? Or is it possible to download a packaged version of the unstable release? Any help appreciated.

PS: I'm currently using AmaroK 1.4.9.1 and ubuntu 8.04.

I have the same problem. I tried compiling libgpod 0.7.0 and copy the compiled files to the /usr/lib folder but the result is the same. I end up with a large (1.6GB with ~360 albums) Artwork folder on my iPod and browsing the covers is very slow. I'm using Archlinux and an iPod 120GB Classic. libgpod 0.6.0 is currently available in the repository. Do I have to wait for the new version or is another solution possible?
