DCOPServer error!

Sat Feb 16, 2008 9:37 pm
I am going to come out and say it, I am entirely new to linux, and have no idea what is going on.

That being said, I saw that practically everyone loved amarok, so I got it for my laptop which is running Ubuntu 7.10. I got it installed easily enough, but when it launches it gives me an error claiming that DCOPServer is not running.  When I type it in terminal, I get this long thing, all of which I dont understand.

Code: Select all
Amarok: [Loader] Starting amarokapp..
Amarok: [Loader] Don't run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use amarokapp.
/usr/bin/iceauth: /tmp/dcopPfMg8b:1:  bad "add" command line

I would have cut it shorter, but I honestly dont know what is necessary and what is not.  Any help on removing this error would be great, because I think all KDE programs use this service, and hopefully one fix will take care of them all.  Thanks.
