I subscribed to a few podiobook feeds (http://www.podiobooks.com) with the standard update a chapter daily. Upon adding the feed to the playlist -> podcast it pulls the first chapter but never again updates. There is an option to change the subscription settings to weekly, monthly, and to release all chapters on the podiobook side. Even when I do this, I still only get the first chapter. I can delete the feed and replace it with the feed containing all the chapters and still, it only shows the first one.
Now if I subscribe to a feed and set it to release all the chapters and then put the feed into amarok, it seems to be fine. I'm using Amarok 1.4.8 on Ubuntu 7.10. |

the feed address is the one you want - not all feeds seem to be created equal, so use whichever method works for you.

I realize this, the problem is that Amarok never updates from the feed which is odd. Once I add a feed I can no longer have it adjusted which is odd. Even if I delete the feed and re-add it; it still only pulls the shows that were available when the feed was originally added. This problem does not occur in any other client I have tried (rhythmbox, firefox, etc). |

I have this problem too with podiobooks. The feeds work properly in other podcatchers.
But it are the only feeds that I have that have the problem. I sometimes have problems that the dates are not correct in amarok for all the podcasts, maybe this is related? |

I also have this problem with feed updates from podiobooks being ignored by Amarok. Podiobooks have validated their feed. I have attached an example here that has three episodes released, but Amarok lists only the first one.

I've spent a little time to work out exactly what in the Podiobooks feed causes the podcasts not to update.
I've found that if I remove the from the XML file it all works OK. The podiobooks feeds include both the standard RSS feed elements and the additional tags required for iTunes. Where ever the iTunes tags are inserted they are preceded by: and are followed by: Comment lines are valid syntax in an XML feed, so it seems this is an Amarok bug which I might be able to report. My workaround is to use wget to fetch the feed then rename the xml file and edit it to remove comments, then change the atom:link tag to point to the edited file (have to use the same filename every time). A lot of trouble to go to but at least it works, though it sort of defeats the convenience of an RSS feed.
