Hello!
I've got a strange behavior/problem with AmaroK. I bought a new mp3-player (Sandisk Sansa Clip) and now I am trying to transfer mp3 files to this new player. The player is set up in AmaroK as a generic player. It is possible to mount this player (in AmaroK as well in Kubuntu). But when I try to transfer the queued files I get an error message:
(I have the German version of Amarok; this message means Media-Player: copy of file:///home/user/.kde/share/apps/amarok/podcasts/folder/file.mp3 to file:///media/SANSA CLIP/podcasts/folder1/folder2/folder3/file.mp3 failed) When I use the file browser dolphin I can create the folders on the Sansa Clip manually and also copy the file to this new directory. Because of this is done with the same linux user I think this is a problem of Amarok not of missing permissions, mounting options etc. When I delete the file again and keep the manually created folders, AmaroK is now in the position to transfer the files. With my old MP3Player the folders were created automatically... Does anyone have an idea what the problem is? I use: Sandisk Sansa Clip 2GB Amarok 1.4.8 (KDE 3.5. Build Date Dec 20 2007 Kubuntu 7.10 (up to date) Thanks for your help and best regards, Christian |

I had the same problem and the weird thing is, you don't have to create the directories outside of amarok, you can just right click in the device panel and select 'Add Directory' - then suddenly there is no problem creating the directory and afterwards you can transfer the queue.
The problem seems to be the whitespaces in the label of the Media Player, so if you change "SANSA CLIP" to"SANSA_CLIP" it should work, at least it did for me. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RenameUSBDrive#FAT16 and FAT32 |
