Hey all,  new linux convert here and loving it in general and Amarok in particular.

In order to make my display more efficient, however, I would prefer to edit out the "Amarok - " from the window title, so it will simply display as " by <artist>" on the panel.  Any suggestions as to what I should be editing?<br><br>Much thanks. </artist>

Are you talking about editing the source code? Other than that, I don't think it's possible to change the text in Amarok's titlebar.

Sure.  Of course, editing a preference file would be easier, but hey, you can't always get what you want.

you will have to edit the source. no idea which particular file - but I'm sure you'll figure it out ;)

It's done!  For those that might want to emulate such behaviour in the future...

The file is app.cpp.  Search for '%1' and you'll find several lines with "Amarok - %1" in them.  Remove everything else, leaving only "%1" within the quotation marks.  Amarok will now display only the song title and artist in the titlebar while a song is playing (or paused, etc.), but will retain the "Amarok" titlebar when no song is presently loaded.
