Hey all, new linux convert here and loving it in general and Amarok in particular.
In order to make my display more efficient, however, I would prefer to edit out the "Amarok - " from the window title, so it will simply display as " Much thanks.

Are you talking about editing the source code? Other than that, I don't think it's possible to change the text in Amarok's titlebar.

Sure. Of course, editing a preference file would be easier, but hey, you can't always get what you want.

It's done! For those that might want to emulate such behaviour in the future...
The file is app.cpp. Search for '%1' and you'll find several lines with "Amarok - %1" in them. Remove everything else, leaving only "%1" within the quotation marks. Amarok will now display only the song title and artist in the titlebar while a song is playing (or paused, etc.), but will retain the "Amarok" titlebar when no song is presently loaded. |
