Amazon not serving Covers anymore

Wed Apr 02, 2008 12:41 am
Amarok  1.4.7 (dec 22, 2007) on Ubuntu Gutsy:  When I try to fetch covers for currently playing tracks or using the cover manager it fails with a "cover not found" message.

When I went to the URL that Amarok uses (traced it with Wireshark) I get this message from Amazon:

We're Sorry - Service Gone

Amazon Ecommerce Web Service 3.0 has been deprecated after many years of useful service on March 31st 2008. Please upgrade to the Amazon Associates Web Service 4.0 as detailed in the migration guide. Please visit Amazon Associates Web Service Developer Forum for more information. If you came to this page from an RSS feed, visit Amazon's Product RSS Feeds page for an upgrade.

I get the same problem trying to fetch covers from any of the Amazon locales.

There's a fix in SVN for this, next version will restore this service again.

Hello...

I am a Dutch AMAROK lover, and I noticed it also in PARDUS-LINUX !
Amazon doesn't serve the covers anymore through the Cover-Manager...!!
Is there a possibility that it will be restored soon ??!!
I must say ...I LOVE AMAROK...Thank you ...!!
