I'm using a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.04. I have MySQL installed and working. I can not get Amarok to connect to the MySQL database unless I launch the application as the root user. If I launch it as root it works fine, but that is obviously not the desired behavior. If I launch it as a standard user the application will open, but I can not edit he config settings for connecting to the MySQL database. They are grey and I can't touch them. Anyone know a way around this little dilemma?

Check the permissions on your ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc file.
Or delete/backup the file and re-run Amarok (or run Amarok from the commandline as "Amarok --wizard")

I've done that several times already...but it worked this time. Weird. Thanks for your time.
