This may be a VERY stupid question, and the problem probably exists between the keyboard  and chair, but does Amarok stream podcasts live or does it store it to the drive somewhere? I am using an EEE PC and I can't have many writes to the ssd, so I was hoping it does the stuff live or on the RAM... so does it?

If you just play a podcast, it's streamed live. If you download it, well then it downloads. So I think you should be good.
