Attached screenshot shows that "Rating" has suddenly disappeared (after a crash) in Amarok.

The Ratings must still be there in the db because my play lists for 4* and 5* still work

I searched and found this problme reported before but no solution

Distro is Ubuntu/ Gutsy Gibbon

Thanks for any help or advice to get ratings back to being visible...

Strange - could you upgrade to 1.4.9.1 and see if the same problem occurs?

Alternatively, try backing up your config and deleting it, forcing Amarok to create a new one. (~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc)

thanks for the reply

OK, i tried the second suggestion first (since it seemed faster)

~/.kde/share/config$ mv amarokrc amarokrc.old

this booted fine with the "run first time" wizard and once the collection was scanned in I had just the same situation

1) no rating in columns
2) files still obviously have rating associated with them since via "Smart Playlist" 4* still works

Will now try your 1st suggestion but not sure where to find it for Ubuntu (not had much luck in the past with compiling source myself)
Will have a poke about and see what I can find
