Amarok collection disappears

Thu May 15, 2008 5:51 pm
Hi,

My music collection and all stats in Amarok disappers in a strange way. I use Arch Linux and the problem began when I did full system update about month ago. When I launched Amarok I found out that my collection list had gone. I rebuilt collection, but at the following day it vanished again. And this situation keeps repeating. What is really strange sometimes all the collection comes back and I can use it without problems. But after one or two reboots I get blank list again.

I checked and there is a collection file in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/. I opened it in sqlite3 and it consists my collection. But why Amarok doesn't read it?

I have tried to find any regularity or thing that causes that strange behaviour, but it seems there isn't such. I updated Amarok to latest version (1.4.9.1) and even compile it from source, but it hasn't change anything. I use sqlite as database, KDE as window manager.

What else can I check to give you more info?

Thanks for any help,

My collection dissapeard too... only it hasnt comeback.
I tried deleting the files from ~/.kde/share/apps amarok and rebuilding but the collection still wont show up.
Thing is I have my collection on my file server in a MySql dbase. The collection is in fine as I use the same dbase form my laptop.
Im also running Arch64. You never said if you were x86 or x86_64. With gnome as my gui...

Hi,

I just realized that this is probably what is happening to me too. I am using Arch64.  I think I am going to uninstall the binary version and install the source.

Warm Regards,

Vincent
