If I'm playing my play list. I cannot skip tracks. Pressing skip button Amarok will tells "skipping track" in status bar. However after while the message disappears and does not skip. How I'll make my Amarok skip my tracks immediately after I have pressed the skip button?
Linux distribution is Ubuntu 8.04 edt: Engine: xine Engine

This is a known problem with the last.fm protocol that Amarok 1.x uses. In Amarok 2 we've upgraded to a newer protocol version, which fixes the issue.

I have understood that Amarok 2 is still under heavy development and so stable version won't be released anytime soon. In fact the main page states: "Amarok developer Mark Kretschmann says, 'There are no more bugs in Amarok 1.4. It is perfect, like a lotus flower. In fact, we think we may cancel development on Amarok 2.0, as there is no point...you can't improve upon perfection.'" So... Amarok 1.4.x doesn't have bugs. It just have problems. ![]() I really love amarok, but I would be quite disappointed if the last.fm feature doesn't work to it's fullest. Especially because last.fm flash player (surprise surprise) doesn't work on my amd64 architecture. Why Amarok 1.4 cannot be upgrated to this "newer protocol"? |

It's called "joking" ![]()
Because development has been frozen, except for critical bugfixes. Implementing the new protocol would require major reworkings of the code.
