sometimes, at a seemingly random place in any song, the interface stops responding, but the music continues to play.I feverishly hit every button, including the termination-cross, and eventually get a message saying the application has come to a lock-up, and I get a choice to keep waiting or terminate. I do the latter, since the previous is no good.
Amarok 1.4.0.9, "engine" I don't know how to find in the Swedish translation. |

Say, am I the only one with such a problem? Also, now that I've listened to a music cd (Construction time again by Depeche mode)all other music seems somehow distorted, a bit muffled, like in the background.Strange.Maybe the cd is just better quality audio.

If you go too 'Settings --> configure amarok --> collection' and uncheck the box next to 'Watch folders for changes", then apply the changes, does the same thing still happen? If it does fix it, then it is probably a performance issue in sqlite, assuming that's what you are using for the database. I don't know what else it would be and I did see something like this in Debian for a few weeks until they got an updated version of sqlite and Amarok's start up time was excessive with the bad versions of sqlite as well on my system. Setting changed. I'll be getting back as to whether it makes a difference or not. Thank you.
EDIT:Well, it didn't.the interface froze and the music kept playing, just like before. Darn the luck.) :
