When I try to play an audio CD Amarok crashes. Maybe the following is the problem: I do not know how to tell Amarok that my audio CD is /dev/sr0.

Tried to fiddle around with device settings in Amarok. Still crashes on audio CD's. Doesn't anybody else have this problem?

Most likely a xinelib issue.

That's strange. I've no problems w/ Xine-UI. I use it a lot to watch video's. I'll try to play an audio CD with Xine. |

You're right. I can't play audio CD's w/ XineUI either.
I use Suse 10.3 and libxine 1.1.8-0 from the Packman repository. Upgraded to 1.1.12-0.pm.1 which didn't help. Strange... |

As it turns out, I also had a version of the xine library installed from source code. I upgraded that one too. Problems gone!
Thank you Mark Kretschmann for the good conclusion about the xine-lib. ![]() |
