I have no problem adding a collection from a shared folder on a Windows XP PC. For some reason I cannot add from a different shared folder on the same PC, but I get no error message and it seems as if the files are being processed although a bit too quick! The status indicator counts up a bit faster than expected and when it comes to 100% the collection is empty and I get no error message! I do think that I got an error message before, something about too many errors to load the collection, but now I have tried several times and the same result - no collection, no error. I have even tried to load exactly the same single CD as the only object of my collection from either shared drive and even then I have a problem on one drive but not on the other. Some differences about the shared drives: the one that works has a smaller collection, about 20 Gb whereas the one causing problem has about 200 Gb. However, as mentioned, even if I delete my collection and then only select one singe CD (exactly the same one copied between the drives) I have this difference. The drive causing problem is an external hard disk connected to the Windows XP PC via USB whereas the one working is an internal drive. I use exactly the same way to mount the two drives: sudo mount -t cifs //WIN-PC/music /home/user/musik -o iocharset=utf8, guest,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 (although the name musik is only for the one causing me problems and the other one is called soulseek),
Any explanation, at least why I don't get any error messages? Thanks for any help! |
