Greetings

After some teething troubles, I've managed to compile and install Amarok on Solaris 10, with Xine. It starts up beautifully and loads in the music collection. However, when I select something to play, it reports :- The void-engine claims it cannot play MP3 files.
You may want to choose a different engine from the Configure Dialog, or examine the installation of the multimedia-framework that the current engine uses.
You may find useful information in the FAQ section of the Amarok HandBook.

When I go into the configure section, there is no engine listed. Under Sound System it says .

Please could you advise what I'm missing ? I've looked around for help with this, (and it doesn't seem to be particularly a Solaris problem). Although I've seen the question asked - nobody yet seems to have provided an answer. I'd be very very grateful for any help.

Thanks very very much in advance

it could be a Solaris-specific problem - are you certain that xine-libs are installed properly, and that Amarok definitely compiled properly against it? What configure options did you compile with?
Your symptoms indicate that Amarok doesn't know about any other engines, which means it didn't really find xine-libs when you compiled.

How did you install Amarok?
