Hy all.I use Amarok under gnome desktop and I really like it.Starting from yesterday I have a problem with the lyric script. The default script gives me this error :
Code: Select all
/usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:560:in `initialize': Connection timed out - connect(2) (Errno::ETIMEDOUT)
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:560:in `open'
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:560:in `connect'
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/timeout.rb:48:in `timeout'
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/timeout.rb:76:in `timeout'
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:560:in `connect'
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:553:in `do_start'
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:542:in `start'
   from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:1032:in `request'

   from /usr/share/apps/amarok/scripts/lyrics_lyrc/lyrics_lyrc.rb:179

If I try to install wiki-lyrics, when I run it I get:

Code: Select all
Sorry...
You need one of QtRuby, RubyGTK or TkRuby to run this program
.

Can someone help me please?

sure - install QtRuby, RubyGTK or TkRuby. At least one of these, if not all, should be in your distro package repositories.

try this for gtk+ruby:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gtk2-ruby

or install gtk2-ruby using Synaptic

I couldn't find the package gtk2-ruby from the terminal.I installed from synaptic libgtk2-ruby1.8 but I get the same error with wiky-lyrics :( Do you have any idea why the default lyric script doesn't work anymore?

Well I guess the server has problems, or is offline altogether.

I already have libqt0-ruby1.8 installed...I don't know what the problem is with the default lyric script. It worked normally and then it broke for no reason at all, giving me the error I posted before.I use Listen Music Player now, and the lyrics fork fine.I like Amarok better though, and I would wish to make it work..

Again, the timeout you see in the error log indicates that the "lyrc" server might have issues. Try a different lyrics script.

I tried Googlyrics and I get this error :

Code: Select all
Can't locate WWW/Mechanize.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /home/troll/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/googlyrics/googlyrics line 4.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /home/troll/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/googlyrics/googlyrics line 4.

I have  Terra Letras and it can't find any lyrics (and I tried some popular songs) and Jamendo has the same problem.I don't know another lyric script for amarok.Give me some ideas
Thank for your answers till now.
