This happened to me once before and to solve it i completely removed amarok and kde and then reinstalled and it started working again. i have made some changes to the preferences and i really dont feel like loosing all my work. I have tried reinstalling amarok and all dependencies but that has not worked. I am using Ubuntu Hardy with Gnome desktop, Amarok 1.4.9.1-xine using KDE 3.5.9. I got an error code 1 and this was the bug report.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I've noticed the same connection timeout error, Amarok 1.4.9.1.
the "Lyrc" script uses lyrc.com.ar which seems to be down. Other lyrics scripts work, e.g. Wiki-Lyrics. Here's the error for the Lyrc script: /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:564:in `initialize': Connection timed out - connect(2) (Errno::ETIMEDOUT) from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:564:in `open' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:564:in `connect' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/timeout.rb:48:in `timeout' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/timeout.rb:76:in `timeout' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:564:in `connect' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:557:in `do_start' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:546:in `start' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:1044:in `request' from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:781:in `get' from /usr/share/apps/amarok/scripts/lyrics_lyrc/lyrics_lyrc.rb:127:in `fetchLyrics' from /usr/share/apps/amarok/scripts/lyrics_lyrc/lyrics_lyrc.rb:193 from /usr/share/apps/amarok/scripts/lyrics_lyrc/lyrics_lyrc.rb:179:in `loop' from /usr/share/apps/amarok/scripts/lyrics_lyrc/lyrics_lyrc.rb:179

When I first ran the script it failesd and gave me a list of 3 packages QtRuby, Ruby/GTK or Ruby/Tk, it needs at least one installed. I chose GTK
The script worked after that. |
