Hello,

I'm running openSUSE 11.0 x64. I have 2 soundcards - one on the mobo I use for skype/chat, the other is a M-audio audiophile 192 pci card for audio production.

I've got OSS drivers on the M-Audio since ALSA doesn't seem to handle the low latency features of the audiophile card well.

I've set the m-audio to be the default soundcard of the system.

However, having some problems with Amarok playing any files.  OSS test reveals that my soundcards are working properly.

Before installing OSS and changing my default card, Amarok refused to play anything out of the pci card and only played stuff out of the onboard chip.  Now that I've set the default as pci, amarok refuses to play anything at all, every time i try to fire up an MP3 it says:

"Failed to connect to stream: invalid argument."

I'm trying to play an MP3, not connect to a stream.

My Amarok version is 1.4.9.1

If anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated!

I had the same problem, only mine worked for a while and started giving me the message.
I don't know what the problem is (probably codec problem?), but what I did was change the engine (go to Settings->Amarok settings->Engine) to the xine Engine.  (I uninstalled the GStreamer engine, and installed the xine engine)  It then complained about missing codecs, so I installed the codecs following the link in the error message.  It started playing mp3s again.  I hope this helps.
