Hello.

These last days I have had problems with Amarok. It used to work mostly correctly, but one day, and for no readily apparent reason, it suddenly died. It runs like normal and gives no error messages, but no sound is coming out.

As far as I can determine, the problem occurs only in Amarok. All other programs play sound as normal. I have tried setting Amarok to all sorts of different sound servers (OSS, PulseAudio etc.), but to no avail. I also did "yum update amarok", but that didn't help.

Does anyone know what might cause this?

I was running Fedora 8 with KDE 3.5 and recently updated to Fedora 9 with KDE 4.0. The problem occurs in both versions. I am using Amarok version 1.4.9.1 and the Xine engine.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: The problem happens with OGG and MP3 files alike.

No, wait, never mind. Turns out I just had the volume turned down to zero for some reason. Amarok was working correctly after all.

Maybe I should try paying attention to things like that next time...
