My sound card is an M-Audio Delta 1010LT with 8 analog inputs and outputs. The card is designed for use in a recording studio, however there is a software switch in it's alsa interface (which is a clone of the windows interface) that patches the "digital mixer" into output channels 1 and 2. KSCD seems to have the right idea, and when I set its direct digital output to "ALSA" it outputs to the "digital mixer" (I'm asuming) and only plays out the first two output channels of the card.
After some playing around in the Amarok Engine settings, I've gotten the card outputting by selecting alsa instead of autodetect and then in the mono and sterio device configuration, placing: plughw:M1010LT,0 (I got the M1010LT from aplay -l ). The problem with this is that it seems to be outputting to the card as a whole, and the music is playing out every channel instead of just the first two. If anybody could explain to me how I could get set the configuration so that I only had amarok outputting to the "digital mixer" or first two channels of my sound card, that would be awesome. Thank you very much! Matt Thiffault

HEHEHE...woops. It seems the Matthias Etrich welcome sound clip is in like 7.1 surround. If I play a normal 2 channel sound file it works fine
