Hi,
I am new to Linux... I've chosen Amarok as my iTunes replacement and so far I like it, with one exception - it take between 5 and 10 minutes (yes minutes) to connect my 80Gb 5G iPod. Am I doing something wrong? After that everything works fine - although I would like to be able to view my iPod in the same way as I can view my collection, is there any way to do this? |

What version of Amarok are you using, and what distro and what distro version are you using?

Amarok 1.4.9.1 (Using KDE 3.5.8-8lp Fedora)
I'm actually on an Acer Aspire One which uses a Fedora variant of Linux) |

I had the same thing in Amarok 1.4. The bad news is that Amarok 1.4's iPod loading for huge amount of files isn't optimized. The good news is that Amarok 2 has this fixed so that it loads much faster (for me, i have 7,000+ songs, loads in under 1 second).

Ah OK thanks... How stable is 2? Is it advisable to replace the 1.4 installation? When will 2 be officially released?
